It’s been a little bit since my last paper layered post and I had such a great time designing, making and giving out these Valentines cards (albeit a little early!) I wanted to share with you in case you’re looking for a quick and easy card to say “Love you” – read on to see how I made it happen!
I started by designing the layers in a digital drawing app on my tablet.
I knew I wanted my card to be in the shape of a heart, so I started with my biggest layer as a flat heart.
From there, I designed layer over layer building up with little hearts, making sure to have the top layers have more open spaces to show the layers beneath them.
I did that for the front and back of the card, finishing up the front with a hand lettered “love you” and the back with two hearts side by side to write a message on showing to & from or whatever works for the occasion
Then I put the layers into my die-cutting machine and one by one watched the layers print out
Next, I assembled them one layer at a time taking care to center each heart within the prior one so everything stayed centered
Then, voila!
My valentines cards were ready to write and deliver!
